RACINE, Wis. (October 2011) – Owners of Geonav
® G12 and G10 Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) now have a new exclusive feature that will make routing faster and easier.
DualFuel
™ Autorouting provides the safest and quickest recommended course based on vessel parameters and chart data. Simply choose a destination end point on the G12 or G10 display and DualFuel Autorouting creates the route on the chart.
“This new feature is in addition to our 2Touch
™ Navigation that allows boaters to make a simple route from point A to point B and then lets the Autopilot take over,” said Dan Ritchie, sales and marketing director, Geonav. “DualFuel Autorouting is designed for longer or complex routes where there are multiple waypoints based on coastline, depth, or environmental concerns. The course can be automatically followed using Geonav’s GSC 110 Autopilot or by manual steering.”
DualFuel Autorouting uses proprietary algorithms to create an accurate and detailed route. Users choose either a Navionics
® or C-MAP
® by Jeppesen
® chart, and then mark the end point of a desired voyage. The recommended route will quickly and automatically be displayed directly on the chart. The route can be easily edited to adjust for specific plans or situations.
DualFuel Autorouting will be available on all 2012 Geonav G12 and G10 models. Current Geonav MFD owners will be able to visit
www.geonavmarine.com and download a free software upgrade.
In addition, Ritchie also announced that Geonav is being repositioned in the marketplace with a lower price structure for its two MFD models. “Today’s boater is much more price conscious compared to a few years ago and we are committed to providing a good value,” Ritchie said.
The new US list prices for the Geonav MFDs are $2,999 for the G12 and $2,499 for the G10.
